Mini Winnies

In the neighborhood we are building in, there is a family that raises miniature horses...no ponies...miniature horses. The average height of a mini is usually less than 34-38". There is currently a foal there...the first photo..and he is quite frankly ADORABLE. Check him out below...
Our house is somewhere in the background, so we have quite a walk if we want to come visit them, but it would be worth the walk in the evening to see these guys.
Above is the baby, next to a full grown female (not his mother).
They kept getting on this pile of dirt and standing and at one point, one even...
Laid down briefly. Not sure why. Horses normally like soft, fluffy dirt to roll in, but this dirt was anything but that. Didn't seem to bother them though.
Remember my previous blog post last month about teeth and how they grow? Well this is how they begin. Aren't they adorable little things?
This is the baby with his Mom. The mother was not extremely protective of the baby...she let us pet it and love on it through the fence and even feed it some grass, but she definitely runs the pasture. When she comes near, she comes with head swinging and teeth barred and runs all the other yearlings and mares off, but not her baby. That's how we knew he was hers, besides the oblivious markings.
These two were wall-eyes...both had blue eyes, and one had appaloosa markings (the one with the spots).
Carl said this little guy looked like a goat. Don't you know Carl looked like a giant to him? He just petted it on the head like a dog.
We headed back home with the windows rolled down, kicking up dust down a gravel road and enjoying this up ahead...
Life is Good.
