Forget the Bunny....

This is a bittersweet Easter...our first without the Bunny. We have been found out. No more fun for us...no more writing on boiled eggs with a white crayon and pretending it's a secret message from the bunny...no more leaving out carrots and nibbling them before bed...no more sneaking around the house and hiding eggs in conspicuous places... So why am I sad? Because she's growing up. Because the magic is leaving...the magic and innocence of childhood. We even forgot to hide eggs today! She played outside with the neighborhood kids on the street, and on our way to the barn, she said "hey we forgot to hunt eggs". Simple as that, in a span of a year, the magic has disappeared, but he reason for Easter has grown deeper roots in her little heart. The magic might be gone and the bunny might be a thing of the past, but I am seeing her grow spiritually like I never dreamed she would at 11. Forget the bunny...for this I am grateful.

Hannah is so sweet and looks beautiful in her Easter pic! When Ethan saw her and Kevin playing he wanted to play with them. He used to be too shy to ask them, but today he went right up and said, "can I play with ya'll?". I heard Hannah say "SURE"! :)

What a sweet blog post! I'm noticing Jonathan not wanting to do some of the traditional, kid things at holidays...of course we've never done the Easter bunny, but this year, unlike all the previous, he didn't even care to dye eggs.
