Still Little....

Tell me she's not 11 already. Tell me she isn't shaving her legs or using acne preventing soap and reading the Hobbit..tell me Middle School is not just a few months away. You can't...because it's all the truth. She might be growing up and developing into a young lady right before my eyes and asking me questions that are far to wise for an 11 year old to wonder about, but she's still just a kid. Really she is, especially on days like today when I can catch her unaware..which is getting harder and harder to do, but I did. She and Olivia were crawling all over the backyard, pretending to be horses or cats or critters of some sort, when I spied them out the window. I'm so happy, that in the midst of boy troubles, peer troubles, a growing and changing body and questions without end, that really, she's still little.
Hannah & Olivia trying to sneak up on Maddie. They were about a foot from her, when the pollen became too much for Hannah. She sneezed really big out of nowhere...Maddie jumped about 2 ft. off the ground and ran away and Hannah and Olivia were all giggles. It was funny. It's hard to sneak up on a cat, FYI, in case you've never tried...they've got good ears.
Maddie was beside herself to have Hannah and Olivia in the backyard with her, crawling around on their hands and knees no less...she was so excited, that she was running at warp speed between our yard and Katherine's next door.

Looks like a good place to hang out to me...I wouldn't think to crawl under a chair and chill, but hey, I'm not 11 with nothing else to do! (One day, when no one is around, I'm going to try it, just to say I did)

Kelly - I only hope that when you do try that - someone is around to catch you on camera. Maybe a neighbor who can post it on you tube. Just don't get stuck.

She is such a beautiful young lady. You are a great mom and you and Carl are so very blessed. I can't believe that I have a 9yr old - the thought of 11 brings me to tears.

I'll probably lay right in a nest of fire ants.
