Yellowstone Pictures: Post #1

Ok, so how do I choose only a few out of 512? And how was I suppose to possibly narrow down what was the prettiest out of 2 million acres? ...beauty was everywhere and it just solidified what I already knew about what a creative guy God really is. I kept thinking about that Bible verse in Proverbs or maybe it's Psalms, but it says that if we don't cry out in worship, then the Rocks will in our place. Yellowstone screams creation...it screams organization...it screams creativity...it screams "somebody did this". See for yourself.
These are pictures of the Upper and Lower Basin Terraces... The terraces are formed by heated water which bubbles up(from Hot Springs) and flows over the surfaces (and gives them a sparkling quality.) The hot water contains calcium and bicarbonate which combine at the surface and get deposited as "travertine". Fresh travertine is white in color, then changes to gray over time. Colors are sometimes added by bright bacteria and algae, making the terraces one of the most beautiful sights in the Park.
Deep in the earth, beneath your feet, but less deep at Yellowstone National Park than in most places, the molten rock of the earth's interior transmits heat upward through sold rock to ground water which has penetrated to that depth. This extremely hot water then forces its way upward through fissures and fractures, warming rocks and water as it goes. Where the hot water can escape at the ground surface, a hot spring is formed.

Reminds me of the song...Ain't no rock gonna stand in my place as long I'm a alive I'll glorify his holy name... Sorry, I just remember Rachel singing this song all the time.
