Carpet

So I have a mailbox now and I wanna' know who is going to be the first person to actually mail me something...I opted for no bricked flowerbeds on the side...it's just too far to walk with a watering can & a hose won't stretch.
So here we are..within 10 days now of closing...we lack sod, and we have had many, many dump truck loads of dirt brought in and the yard leveled. Now, we are just waiting and doing a rain dance...70% chance this week..or Monday, and then we get sod. 15,000 sq feet of sod, that my husband wants to lay himself. It will cover all the front, most of what we will call our "back yard" (minus the pasture of course) and the sides of the house and down the driveway about 2 pieces of sod wide. I do not know how this is going to work. We might have to host a sod laying party...
One of the easiest things I picked out for the house was the carpet. These were our choices, some in our budget, some wayyyy...over. The more over the budget they were, the softer the carpet..go figure. Ours is middle of the road. We picked, Mohawk, Sticks & Stones, Color/ Agate, Style is Smart Strand. Researching Carpet was sorta interesting. You can read about it at the link below. I know you want, lol, but I have converted a couple of people by my product endorsements on my blog!

What I thought was really interesting about this carpeting is it's "Smartstrand/Triexa". It's an environmentally smart carpet...thus the name, Smartstrand. This carpet is made with fiber produced from corn sugar and it's called SORONA. They do it with help from Dupont. I think that's way cool.
Another great thing about this carpet is the warranty.
Mohawk teamed up with the Birmingham Zoo to test our very same carpet for stain resistance. They put our carpet in a cage with a Rhinoceros named Rocco for a month. They claimed it was so stain resistant, that it would come clean...here is a picture:

This is the carpet after Rocco lived on it and the center is where they cleaned it.The link below, because I know someone wants to know what Rocco looks like and wants to see them actually clean the carpet...anyway, this link will take you to the challenge website. It's pretty cool and your kids will think so too.
Here it is in my house, and if it can survive Rocco, surely, surely to goodness it can survive "Hurricane Hannah"
NOT looking forward to vacuuming these. Bought a new vacuum cleaner for this with an attachment that does steps and risers.
Can't wait to litter my scrapbook room with creative mess.
Hannah's carpet...from the balcony looking in.
Last but not least, Hannah's balcony is finally getting finished.
Carl telling me (while I'm on the balcony/like I can hear him) how far the sod is goingn to go.

This is great. I just love following the building of the house.
