Home Away From Home

Moving day finally came! The day I'd dreaded and looked forward to for four years had finally arrived and I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it. Nevertheless, no time to delay, things had to be divided and packed. Things that were going to the rental were packed and inventoried separately and the box was labeled with bright orange duct tape. Everything else went to storage. And for those of you who have asked, No, they don't come back to the rental and take our stuff to the new house, so we will be living as minimalists for 6 to 8 weeks. Instead of getting a hotel as soon as the furniture left on Thursday, we saved $400 by blowing up our air mattresses and sleeping in the house. That way we could keep the cat with us, be close to the horses to feed, and I could clean and paint at my leisure. Plus, the washer and dryer went with the house, so I was able to do laundry and keep clothes caught up. Carl didn't sleep so good the first night, so he took a nap on the floor. H rolled out two layers of thin bubble wrap and laid on that....like it was any more cushion than the floor alone. And here we are at the rent house. 9 hours later and pooped. We found it to be very cute and roomy for only 1600 square feet. It has more storage than the house I just sold. It will be a nice place to be while they are finishing up our house. It's in the middle of where the horses are and where the new house is. If you want the address, email me. I accept all donations and handouts. :)
Maddie hid in the closet for 4 hours but she came out eventually for a drink. She's adjusting...slowly but doesn't understand why she can't go outside. Poor Maddie.

it looks nice! You know...we will be doing this all soon! Of course, its still all up in the air where we will live. We may be renting a while as well.

No, I did not know you would be doing this soon! Do email me and update. This rental is actually a rent to own that our builder owns. The rent to own couple that purchased/rented it, defaulted it after a couple of months, so it was empty. Worked out good for us.
