This is the first year we've done the Grand Prix at AWANA in about 3 years. I was super excited see, because there was a Leader Race, and I just knew my car was going to win. It didn't.
Rumor is that it didn't win because it had too much "bling" on it.
These are my girls who showed up for the race...
Allie Beth won for overall speed, Olivia came in second I think, and Caleigh won for overall design with her Elvis car (that was actually designed by her leader).
We put the weights and wheels on 80 cars...80...and it took two weeks...this is the number of kids who's parents BOTHERED to bring them to the AWANA races on that Saturday morning. It took 40 mintutes to do. I mean come on. It was more than a little disappointing, considering the Grand Prix can be one of the biggest outreach connections to clubber parents, that you might have during the year, aside from home visits.
