Easter in Georgia

Ta Da!This trip, my in-laws were in NYC, which was FABULOUS...because all pressure was off to hang out with them, and I got to spend a week at my sister's house. Hannah loved having some extra time with her Aunt Terri and Uncle Max. Plus, we had our own "suite" upstairs and plenty of room to spread out. It was quite a treat. She will kill me for posting this picture online for all to see...since she was only on day 3 of her back surgery recovery...but last time I blogged about my visit to Georgia/Tennesee...I got in trouble for not blogging about my visit with her...so here it is! My so talented neighbor in Oklahoma, Lou, painted this basket for Hannah on her 4th or 5th Easter. She is so talented...she really is and what's so cool about it is that she has no idea that she is. She made about 11 of these...personalized for each child on the street. Hannah's had ballet bunnies on one side, since she was in ballet at the time, and above, of course, is Beca with bunny ears. It is dimensional, although you can't see it in the pictures. All the things she painted on are puffy and stick up. Not sure what kind of paint she used...but hellooo...Destiny, you can so do this!
I have always wanted to do this...line up Hershey kisses leading to her Easter basket, but never have been able to because of the dog eating them...or the possibility of it. But because Beca was in heaven this Easter, I was able to do the hershey kisses and Hannah was most impressed with the dexterity of the bunny. (Isn't her fireplace cool by the way/she designed it).
We went to church with Terri and Max at their new church, well, it's a year old, but it's new to me. Isn't this cross spectacular...you can see it from clear down the road.
I'm not sure how Max got duped into carrying the basket. Hannah with Austin...my GREAT nephew. My sister Terri's son Michael's son. What a mouthful! Anyway, he is a doll...he has such a sweet nature, and is just adorable. For only 3, he is so soft spoken and quiet, polite and gracious... and so stinkin' smart! Hannah loves him. He's her favorite cousin she said. She also said she'd like to have him as a brother, and she's never said that about ANY boy. Hannah and Sage at an impromtu Easter egg hunt at the lake. Hannah was her helper.
Very big hair day below, for me. Oh, Sage, Sage, Sage, what can I say. She's a handful. Carl's brother's little girl.Hannah, Sage, and Garrett. How rare to get them all in one shot smiling.

Yes, we put her to sleep that Monday the last week of the leap, two days before we went to Ga. I just haven't wanted to talk abuot it. I have goodbye pictures, and I'll blog about it when I feel like I can. We miss her of course, after 17 years...but it wasn't fair to her, to keep her here for us. She was really sick that last couple of days.

Awww, sorry to hear about your dog. As a new dog owner it breaks my heart to think of how it would hurt to lose our dog (and we've only had her a few weeks).

Looks like you had a great Easter! The basket is precious and I LOVE the idea of doing the Hershey kisses. I'm SO stealing that next year! Our dog sleeps in her kennel so she will be safe :).

*First, I love the layout and decor of your blog!
*Fall is my favorite too. I remember some fun memories, and have great pictures with you in the fall back at Lejeune.
*It is so neat seeing your life in pictures. What a lovely, blessed life you and Carl have and have given to Hannah. She is so blessed to have parents like you and to have so much provided for her.
*I loved listening to 33 Miles while viewing your blog. I am inspired for the day.
*I truly miss scrapbooking with you!
