Ahh....a Taste of Oklahoma...

http://www.braums.com/ What is Braum's?
It's a company located in Oklahoma that is 100% vertically integrated. They make everything they sell. Braum's has one of the most active milking operations in the country, with 10,000 cows being milked three times a day on one single farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma. They have their own in-house ad agency, they make all of their own paper products, they even make the cleaning products used to clean the stores. Braum's originally began as a dairy and ice-cream store, but has grown into a grocery concept, with Braum's Fresh Markets located right in the store offering mostly Braum's private label products. They are privately held by the Braum's family and have no plans of ever going public. You will never find a store more than 250 miles outside it's dairy operation, thats because the milk Braum's sells goes from the cow to your local Braums store in no more than 36 hours. That's as fresh tasting as milk gets, and they have no plans of ever changing that. Braum's is one of the things I miss most about living in Oklahoma...nothing compares to their strawberry mixes (similar in fashion to a DQ Blizzard)...topped with their famous strawberry topping. I used to get one every Sunday night and eat it while watching Desperate Housewives. Whenever Carl makes a trip back, he brings me jars of topping and a frozen Strawberry mix that he packs in a cooler...just for me. Now don't I feel loved? :-) He and Hannah just got back from a dove hunt, and he brought me these things as a souvenir...I'd like nothing more! Next time you are cruising through a Texas, Arkansas, or Oklahoma town and see a Braum's stop in..their food is fabulous. Why don't they spread out any further you wonder? Click on the link and check out their website to see why. Now, I'm off to eat my ice cream. http://www.braums.com/BuyBest.asp

Mmmh, I went on their website and now I am hungry. All this looks delicous. Sure would like to go to a store. I guess the closest one would be in Tyler?

We used to eat there when we lived in Tyler. I had no idea how special of a place it is! :) VERY interesting info. :)

Ahhh like I said, Heaven on Earth! I miss Braum's and have wondered if it would really be feasible to make a trip to Tyler just to go to Braum's???

How sweet of Carl. Tell me next time he's going! :)

My Mom and I LOVE Braums! There are some in Dallas too. We always went to Braums when we were back in Tulsa. Love it!

Kelly, I have to tell you someting funny I did today...Nathan was cleaning out his truck today and put all his trash in a little Wal Mart plastic bag. Before throwing that bag away with the 'big' traash, I noticed a clear, plastic lid with a pink straw hanging out of it. For a minut there, I thought BRAUMS!! They are known for their clear lids with bright, pink straws. :) When I asked Nate about it later, it was from a water cup from Taco Bell. Funny though how something so trivial can remind you of something else.
