Hallelujah! VBS is finished! (now if I can just get those infamous VBS tunes out of my head!) I looked forward to it for so long, and anticipated it, and now that it's over, I don't know what to do...nothing to prepare for, nothing to make, nothing to create (if you don't consider the 4 years of pictures I have to scrapbook that is!). I love that the stage turned out exactly how I had it pictured in my head. I do makeover projects all the time...painting, decorating, rearranging, but seldom does it turn out just how I see it in my head. I was pleased and am so grateful for the couple of ladies who jumped in and helped me put it all together that last night. Poor Marlene had to take a pie in the face tonight, much to Mike's surprise! The boys raised $11.20 more than the girls in the offering for our Mission Church's Children's area. Total monies brought by the kids was over one thousand dollars! I love that they understand that there are other churches that need help, and that they actually desire to bring offerings to do just that.
My third grade class was so good, with the exception of a couple of talkers. I had 5 decisions from my class, two desiring baptism and three new decisions. It makes all the time worth it, when a little kid actually "gets" what you're saying, and then they get it on their little heart to do something about it. If you've never participated in VBS...it is one of the most rewarding things you'll ever do, next to AWANA of course...but ask me this time next year how AWANA goes, because this fall I will be T&T Girls Director. Should be interesting! Enjoy these pictures from tonight's family night. And in closing, I just want to verbalize, if not to anyone but myself, how incredibly blessed we feel to be a part of Eastwood Baptist. At Eastwood, the people are just...regular old people. I love that. :-)

I should've captioned that picture. He was deflating the pineapple. :-) That's what he said anyway!

I loved that VBS! The music was great!
The set looks great!
I miss EBC!!
Wow Kelly! The stage is fantastic! Congratulations! You always doing everything so pretty!
The stage looks incredible! Hayden went to Outrigger Island at a local church and the music was VERY GOOD! We are still singing and the VBS was almost a month ago.
Oh, no, I hate that the children's ministers wife got the pie in the face. We are doing the same thing but me and Chad. I'm totally prepared for Chad to get the pie in his face. I've even gone so far to ask him what kind of pie he wants in his face :)
Oh it was't the children's minister's wife that got the pie, it was Marlene Simmons. I guess you dont' know her and to answer the other question, Carl is pushing the air out of the pineapple.
Poor Marlene!! That's great...5 decisions!
I used to help in the 3rd grade every year! I loved that age in VBS! That's awesome that there were 5 decisions!!
