Our cabin in Silver Gate Montana

This was my favorite place that we stayed.(the last two nights) It is in a tiny town called Silver Gate, and no kidding, if you blinked, you'd for sure miss it. It is on the road that eventually turns into "Bear Tooth Pass", which Charles Kuralt said with the most scenic drive in America. (He was right). I'll include a few pics from Bear Tooth Pass on the end. Our cabin was so cozy and renovated. The next morning when I rolled over and looked out the window, there was a buffalo laying in the front of the row of cabins. For real, see the picture? Also, every building in Silver Gate has to be built out of logs. I like that. Simplicity. The Silver Gate Cafe was the best food of the entire trip by far...and the most expensive. The grilled pumpkin bread they serve for breakfast was fabulous...drizzled with local Montana honey and powdered sugar. You could by an entire loaf for $16 and it was almost tempting to do...it was that good.

To the right is that fabulous restaurant I was telling you about. Even though we didn't use the kitchen in our cabin, we might have if we'd been there longer. Everything was brand new and clean as a whistle.
The picture above is of the LAKE LODGE CABIN that Carl made us reservations at in the beginning.(Initially, we had reservations for the entire week here) I kept trying to tell him that there were no pictures to be found of it on the Internet, and that we should be careful staying somewhere (even in Yellowstone) that won't post pictures of it's facilities...and I even found a blog where the people who stayed there said it was a dump...he still insisted on keeping the reservations...until he saw them. Who did better? Me or Carl?

What a nice and beautiful cabin! Last fall all my family in Mexico rent a big cabin up in the mountain for the weekend. It was wonderful, I truly enjoy it!
No Tv, no computer, no videos games etc...100% pure family time.
