Well, Moe and Clumsy are officially on their own. We released them at Island Cove marina Tuesday morning. I'd had visions of their little webbed feet hitting the water, and them swimming away happily, but I'd overestimated them. Carl had to dump one out of the crate...he didn't want to go. After several attempts of putting them in the water and them quacking furiously and running back up the bank to us, we started scooping them up and literally throwing them in the water. They would throw out their wings, coast to the water, splash down and run back up to us. Finally, I decided we were going about it all wrong. So, I sat down on the shore, while they swam along the bank. Once they were comfortable, which was about 15 minutes, Hannah and I snuck up the bank and ran. We've been back every morning and evening since to check on them. They're adjusting fine. Yesterday morning they were playing, diving and splashing, although they remain scared of the other ducks and geese around. Hopefully they'll wise up soon and realize they are indeed ducks, and start to interact with their new neighbors. Below are some pictures of them before, during, and after their release. So long fella's!
This is the Marina. My Father-In-Law's boat is docked behind here, so he'll be able to check on our boys frequently.
We were puzzled...trying to figure out how to entice them into the water with the other ducks and geese.
I didn't shed a tear; none of us did. Now I know you all are so sad that you won't be able to read my blog entries about my "boys". :-)

Awww, that is sad! I am going to miss seeing those guys!
I can't believe none of you cried. I got a little sad reading this post and I've never even seen the ducks in person.
