Ready, Set, GO! Sketch challenge #2

OK, here we go again...this weeks challenge...you guys work on this while I'm camping this week, and when I come home, I want to see all your creative layouts. This one is easy...everyone has a favorite 8x10 laying around...one you've taken out of a frame; do something with it! My friends Lou, Amy and Helen are probably going to kill me for putting this group shot of them on my blog! This picture has been hanging on my fridge for almost 2 years. It has been a hilarious daily reminder of my friends in Oklahoma and the fun times we shared. I took this picture at a Birthday Crop for Helen and it was late...we were getting to that silly point; when you've scrapbooked way too long and had too much sugar and caffeine. You've all been there I know from personal experience. :-0
----------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, the layout is simple, but here are the small challenges for you within the large layout:

-Mix uppers and lowercase letters in your Title or Subtitle
-Use a busy patterned paper that you wouldn't ordinarily choose
-Make a visual triangle with your embellishments, either repeat the shape, the element, the color or the technique.
-------------------------------------------

Where's my triangle you say? My triangle is color: it's black. The first point of the triangle is the black parenthesis to the left of the title, the second corner of the triangle is the black subtitle (girlfriends) and the last point of the triangle is the black "I miss you" on the bottom. (Click on the pictures to make them larger and see detail)

OK, ready, set GO!

An 8x10 huh? I have yet to scrapbook one 8x10 in the five years I've been doing this, but I'm willing to give it a try. Maybe this time everyone will catch on to this!! :) I can't wait to see everyone else's as well.

You will be so proud of me. First I finally signed up today instead of visiting as a guest to your blog. Second, I scrapbooked for the first time in years. I was slightly forced into it as Ryan has a project due for school, but loved every minute of it. Randy asked last night if Ryan was helping at all with HIS project. Read through previous blogs and had a good laugh over the flower arrangement on the toilet blog - don't know how I missed that one last time!!!! Hope you are having a great camping trip!

Ok - I am here...but I am not a scrapper - don't you have a blog for household cleaning tips or chocolate recipes or something??? I as well loved the flowers on the toilet story....so very you!!

It's about time Michelle! I can think of something you can relate to....a book perhaps?

Okay, I have tried this and failed. I don't have an 8x10, but I have a 5x7. It's Ethan's school Christmas picture. Maybe I just can't get in the Christmas mood, I don't know. I'm really starting to want something to make letters. What do you recommend? Cuttlebug? I don't want to spend $300. :)

Hmmmmm...actually, I recommend Quickutz. Log onto rememberwhen.com and click "Quickutz" off the menu to the left. You'll need a $74 handtool and you can buy any type alphabet you want or borrow one or two of mine. I'll bring it to the next crop so you can try it. Cuttlebug doesn't have a huge assortment of alphabets, however the diecut machine does cut all dies; quickutz dies, sizzix dies, cuttlebug dies and embossing dies. It's the machine that I brought to the last crop...the green one that belongs to the women's ministry. Of course everyone else will say "Cricut". :-) You guys are a cult!
