We took a boat ride to Texas on a Boat Road on Caddo Lake...it's gorgeous out there...take a look see...

American Lotus Pads as far as the eye can see...see the Lotus flowers sticking up? Better known by most, or called by most as Lily pads, but they're actually Lotus pads.
An American LOTUS flower and lotus pad.
In case you're wondering, it stunk.
Some sort of pretty flower growing up out of the water. There were tons of them. It was the second most common flower next to the lilly pad flower that I saw. Click on it and look at it large.

This was in Alligator swamp in Texas. It was dark in there and we were surrounded by bald cypress on each side and they are covered by moss up top. It looked like something from a Terminator movie. Spooky.
These are called "knees" and it's actually the root of the bald cypress tree coming to the surface. Bald Cypress trees can live 600 years!
Here are some "knees". They start to look like something if you stare at it long enough. Cool I think.
Huge wasp nest on one of the boat road signs.
