Pass or Fail?

OK ladies, here is my homework...what's my grade? My total cost for the first layout (the one page one) was approximately $1.40. How'd I do that? Well, getting the card stock from Tuesday Morning's for 7 cents a sheet helped for sure!Ditto for the metal embellishments. I spent the most on the $1 alphabet stamp from Michaels, but like Destiny said, stamps are not "consumable" and once you have them, you have them from then on. I wanted so bad to use buttons and brads or eyelets...the paper has a look of fabric (but you can't see that in the photos probably) so it was just crying out for thread and buttons. I used a button punch instead and used floss and a needle to "thread" the buttons before sticking them on. I used tiny circles for my makeshift brads. Lots of ink and layering on the paper. Since I'm in reminisce mode this month for some reason, I did the "Now and Then" theme. I got the idea from a magazine a few months back. I must say, this layout was fun. Since I knew beforehand what I was going to use, my mind wasn't doing cartwheels trying to decide what to use. I didn't get out of my chair the entire layout process..everything I needed was at my fingertips. It was fun! Here it is:
------------------------------------
On the two page layout, I used the exact same paper pack as the first layout. Can you tell? I just used it in different ways. When I needed white, I flipped over a printed piece. The card stock was fabulous quality...7 cents a sheet...25 sheets to a pack. (I shared some with Jen). Since I got it so cheap, I didn't' have any qualms about layering the background etc...I used as much paper as I wanted. Also, these layouts are for my 2008 album, for which I am using the new Creative Memories "drop in" pages...so now my Cardstock is my page. I no longer have to worry about the weight of the album, or the weight of the page before I even begin the process. The sky is the limit! Still in reminisce mode here...I wanted to re-scrapbook these pictures. Obviously, they are 9 years old...the first time I scrapbooked them, I had just stared scrapping...and well, you know, the technique was somewhat "underdeveloped" to say the least. Besides, scrapbooking should be fun, and doesn't necessarily have to be chronological. It's OK to do old pictures in a current album...we all need reminders of times when all was well, when God was good, when blessings were abounding...why not include them in current layouts? Try it. Here goes number two:

These are beautiful-- I love them!! I think you get an {{A+}}!!!Look at Hannah how precious!

The new true 12x12 albums are drop ins? I really like that. I need one for Emma Kate's school album. I still can't decide what color, though.

Not all the new albums are drop ins...it is just an option. I'll send you a link so you can see. You can still get pages too. our new cardstock is true 12x12, so it makes it easy to just drop the page in.

I LOVE Drop in pages as you well know. I chickened out and started a 2008 album for the boys with an old drop in album instead of using my new CM one...even though I know the CM is MUCH better quality. So...now I need some CM drop ins please. :)

These pages are so good. I absolutely love the second one...you know I cried when I saw these pics before. Hannah is so sweet, so cute! I'm a big fan of journaling on strips. Sometimes it just works the best.
