When the Cassin's Finch built her first nest...while we were camping...I thought, "you know, she probably regrets building that nest on our door, now that we're back from camping and the door is opening and closing all day long". So she raised her brood and a week ago Sunday Carl tore out the nest (after the babies flew) and washed the door and re-hung the wreath. By Tuesday, she'd rebuilt her nest and by Thursday there was egg #1, Friday Egg #2, Sunday Egg #3, and today there are 4. I'm flattered really...and I'm ready to see brood #2 grow. I think she wants you to give up. She is perfectly happy with her home and she's not leaving!
